GOCC – Web Design
Based in Cardiff, the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas with its Byzantine-style church is the heart of the Greek and Orthodox community in, not only in the Welsh capital but, the entire South of Wales.
The parish was seeking to create a new website with a modern feel. We took the traditional elements and heritage of the church and incorporated them in a fresh and clean WordPress website.
Highlight – Church Services
One of the most important elements in a church website are its services. Due to their importance they have to exist in various areas of the website, easily accessible and noticed. For this reason, at the top bar (01) there is a Calendar link, which leads to the Services Calendar (02).
Also, on the homepage, the third section, the services are displayed as a list (03); up to five at any given time, next to the Celtic cross; this cross has been added as the Church is located in Wales, which has been an Orthodox country.
All the months’ services can be viewed on the Services page (04), beneath the Services navigation menu item.
Finally, services are displayed in the footer (05), only the two latest ones at a time.
All the above, certify that one will not miss the Church’s services on the website.
